Beginning in 2016, my work in independent film production was an exploration of how distinctive, character-driven stories can be developed and brought to audiences outside the traditional studio system. This period included projects such as Broken Ghost (2017) and Nancy (2018), providing experience across the development, production, and festival landscape of independent filmmaking.
A key milestone was Nancy (2018), written and directed by Christina Choe and starring Andrea Riseborough, Ann Dowd, J. Smith-Cameron, Steve Buscemi, and John Leguizamo. The psychological drama/thriller follows a woman whose elaborate online identities lead her to believe she may be the missing daughter of a grieving couple. It went on to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
